Marco Polo Airport (VCE): Approximate driving time to the Piazzale Roma, historical Venice's land-transportation terminus, is 20 minutes and distance is 13 km (8 miles). Car rentals are available online, and there is public parking at Piazzale Roma and a parking garage at nearby Tronchetto.

Getting there: From the airport, visitors go by water or by land across the lagoon to historical Venice. By water, the fastest and most expensive way is by water taxi, which can navigate small canals to within 100 meters (109 yards) of the hotel. Less expensive and slower is a boat that stops 300 meters (328 yards) from the hotel. From there, guests can walk to the hotel or hire a water taxi to get closer. By land there are taxis and buses that go from the airport to Piazzale Roma, the historical center's land-transportation terminus near the train station (Stazione Ferroviaria). Waterbuses go from Piazzale Roma and the train station to the Ca' d'Oro stop, 200 meters (219 yards) from the hotel.

Directions to hotel: The waterbus stop nearest the hotel is Ca' d'Oro, 200 meters (219 yards) away on the Grand Canal. After getting off the waterbus, walk straight away from the canal on Calle Ca' d'Oro. Turn right on Strada Nuova, proceed to the square called Campo dei Santi Apostoli and turn left on Salizada del Pistor. The hotel is on the corner of the second street ahead, Calle dei Proverbi.

Getting around: The vaporetto (waterbus) system circulates throughout Venice's historical center and connects the historical center to the Venice lagoon's major islands (the Lido of Venice, Murano, Burano, and Torcello). Water taxis, which the hotel staff arranges on request, operate throughout the city, using major waterways and smaller canals. Gondolas for individual sightseeing tours can be rented throughout the city. Walking around Venice, with its narrow streets and little bridges, is easy, as the historical center is compact. Street maps are readily available.
